A flower CSA is like a membership or subscription. Each week, you will receive a unique, seasonal, lush flower bouquet at your chosen pickup location. As a CSA member, you are "buying a share" of the farm by making an advance payment which supports the start up costs for our season.
To find out more info about how our CSA works, please read the FAQ below.
FAQ for the Broadturn Farm Flower CSA
What does being a CSA member mean?
We're all in this together! As a CSA member at Broadturn Farm, you agree to support the farm's endeavor to provide local, sustainably grown flowers for the community by investing in our operation in the months when cash flow is the leanest. You offer your support of our farm and your commitment to enjoy its lush flowers by purchasing a season of goodness.
How do I sign up?
Choose which share you want from our Flower CSA shop and then complete the registration and payment online. You will get a automatically generated confirmation email when the purchase is completed. We will be in touch a few weeks before the first pickup.
When will my share begin?
Start dates are always dependent on the progress of spring. We will let you know the exact date within a week of our first CSA distribution. Our estimation for 2020 dates are as follows:
Tulip share - 1st week mid-April with a break until mid-May
Spring share - May 11th or May 18th.
Summer share - June 8th or June 15th
Peony share - Mid-June
Fall share - August 24th or 31st
How can we keep in touch?
Broadturn Farm actively maintains an Instagram feed and a Facebook Page that we regularly update. In addition, all CSA members will be emailed with announcements pertaining to the distribution of the flower shares. You can call or email us anytime with questions or concerns.
What if I want to give a share as a gift?
You get a gold star for being AWESOME! There is the option of selecting the share as a gift when you register and purchase the share in our shop. You are responsible for notifying the gift recipient of your thoughtful gift, and Broadturn Farm will reach out to them atleast one week prior to the first pickup with detailed information about their share.
I'm going on vacation, can I make up the share another week?
We're sorry, but this is not an option. The planting and harvest season is planned out in advance, along with labor. Consider offering your share to a neighbor or friend on a week when you will be away.
I can't make it for my scheduled TUESDAY pick-up. Can I come another day?
If you have chosen to collect your share at one of our partner locations, you will need to stick to agreed upon day and time window for pick-up. Please have a friend pick it up for you (or as a gift). If you have chosen the farm as your pick-up location, we are able to hold your CSA bouquet for one additional day. No need to let us know if you will be one day late picking up at the farm.
I need some extra flowers, is this possible?
Yes! We can always add on to your CSA delivery each week. Just send us an email or give us a call prior to the morning of your CSA pickup day and we can make plans to have extra flowers for you. Or place an order for a different day for pickup at the farm or delivery. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to place your order.
What is that flower that was in my bouquet last week?
Wondering what a certain bloom is? Take a photo, text or email it to us and we'll let you know.
