Collection: Flower CSA

CSA stands for "Community Support Agriculture"

A flower CSA is like a membership or subscription. Each week, you will pick-up a unique, seasonal, lush flower bouquet or single-stem bunch at our farm in Scarborough. As a CSA member, you are "buying a share" of the farm by making an advance payment which supports the start-up costs for our season. The timing of the tulip and peony share may overlap with the spring and summer shares.

A perfect gift for the flower lover in your life!

What does being a CSA member mean?

We're all in this together! As a CSA member at Broadturn Farm, you agree to support the farm's endeavor to provide local, sustainably grown flowers for the community by investing in our operation in the months when cash flow is the leanest. You offer your support of our farm and your commitment to enjoy its lush flowers by purchasing a season of goodness.

How do I sign up?
Choose which share you want from our Flower CSA shop and then complete the registration and payment online. You will get an automatically generated confirmation email when the purchase is completed. We will be in touch via your provided e-mail approximately one week before the first pick-up.

I received a share as a gift, now what?
Your generous giver has shared your email address with us. We will reach out to you approximately one week before the estimated start date. If you haven't heard from us, check your spam folder before getting in touch.

When will my 2024 share begin?
Start dates are always dependent on the progress of the season. We will let you know the exact date within a week of our first CSA distribution.
Our estimation for 2024 dates are as follows:
Tulip CSA - May 9th
Spring Bloom CSA- May 15th

Peony CSA- June 13th

Peak Season CSA - July 24th

Dahlia CSA - September 4th

How can we keep in touch?
You can email alaena@broadturnfarm.com with any questions or concerns. We will send emails with any updates throughout the season. Make sure we are in your contact list so it does not go into your junk folder. Broadturn Farm actively maintains an Instagram feed and a Facebook page that we regularly update with info about the CSA and other goings on at the farm (do not send any questions via Instagram please).

What if I want to give a share as a gift?
You get a gold star for being AWESOME! There is the option of selecting the share as a gift when you purchase the share in our shop. We provide a downloadable image that you can print or email the recipient.

I'm going on vacation, can I make up the share another week?
We're sorry, but this is not an option. The planting and harvest season is planned out in advance, along with labor. Consider offering your share to a neighbor or friend on a week when you will be away.

I can't make it for my scheduled WEDNESDAY pick-up. Can I come another day?
We are able to hold shares for one additional day, no need to let us know. If you can't make either day, please have a friend pick it up for you (or as a gift). You do not need to inform us if you will be a day late picking up your share.

I need some extra flowers, is this possible?
Yes! We can always add on to your CSA delivery each week. Just send us an email or give us a call a week prior to your CSA pick-up day and we can make plans to have extra flowers for you. Or place an order for a different day for pick-up at the farm or delivery. Contact Alaena to place your order.

What is that flower that was in my bouquet last week? Wondering what a certain bloom is?
Take a photo, text or email it to us and we'll let you know.

What happened to the other pickup Locations?
Broadturn Farm will be the PRIORITY pickup location in 2023. All shares will be picked up in our farmstand located at 388 Broadturn Road in Scarborough.
